Yet, this is exactly what happened to 19-year-old Rosa Domínguez, aka the luckiest teenager in the world. According to the California Lottery, Rosa won $655,555 when she played two $5 scratch offs.
She bought the first ticket – a $5 Power 5 – at a gas station in Paso Robles as she made her way back to California from Arizona. She learned that she had won $555,555, the scratch off jackpot. “I was so nervous I just wanted to cry,” she said. A few days later, she dropped by another gas station and purchased a $5 Lucky Fortune Scratcher just because. She ended up winning an additional $100,000.
The teen, who claimed her prizes at the California Lottery’s East Bay District Office in Hayward, now hopes to buy herself a car and to treat herself with her winnings.
