If you’re an Instagram follower of Salma Hayek, you may have been wondering how the Mexican-Lebanese actress has been posting bikini pics constantly over the past few weeks. Did she move to a magical island where it’s perfect every day of the year? Is she a magical woman who figured out how to evade the quarantine weight gain?
Nope! She is human after all. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hayek called sharing her bikini pics “liberating.” Also, that bod took some work because she too gained some quarantine weight.
“I had to lose a lot of weight and exercise to get into the bikini towards the end of last year,” she told ET. “I’m glad I took a lot of pictures, I have no shame on it, because it was the first week of the vacation.”
The Academy Award nominee turned 54 last December, and took an end of year vacation in a still undisclosed beach destination. Her followers might assume that she just lives at the beach now, but Hayek says, they are all throwbacks.
“People are sick of it but I’m going to let them take a break. They’re going to think I’m wearing a bikini every day. No, they’re all from the same location,” she asserted. “I saved my pictures, I’m not in the same condition today and I’m spreading the love out like every two weeks.”
The mother of one is gearing up for a busy year, which includes becoming one of the only Latinas in the MCU when Chloe Zhao’s Eternals *hopefully* makes its debut. She is currently promoting her upcoming with Bliss which co-stars Owen Wilson.
Is she going to stop posting bikini pics soon? Maybe but not because she doesn’t want to. “I’m going to put up another one. I’m almost running out of them but I don’t know if you have that feeling, like, 2021!”
