Salma Hayek Makes Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Cover Debut in Bikini by Latina Designer

Mexican actress and producer, Salma Hayek is on the cover of the 2025 issue of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, making her debut appearance at 58.
The May cover features Hayek wearing a green swimsuit by Colombian designer Johanna Ortiz. The brand of the same name carries ready-to-wear, resort, accessory, and home collections. Hayek’s necklace and body chain are by Jacquie Aiche. And she was wearing these all the while wading in a waist-deep pool.
The photoshoot included images of Hayek in a variety of bikinis and beachy accessories that tread sensuality and glamour. She poses along the sandy beach, poolside, and beside the colorful architecture of the luxury resort, Cuixmala in her native Mexico.
Hayek also posted BTS shots of the photoshoot, with a video montage featuring the Caifanes classic, “La Negra Tomasa” playing along.

For Hayek, gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit was a pinch me moment, as the popular cover has always piqued the Hollywood star’s interest.
“I remember when I was young, a long, long time ago, I was always excited to see the Swimsuit Issue of Sports Illustrated, and [thinking] ‘Who’s going to be in it?’ Of course, I didn’t look like a model, so it never crossed my mind that one day I would be in it,” shared Hayek on the photo shoot set. She adds, “If somebody had told me I was gonna be in it at 58, I would have sent them to the madhouse, but the world has changed, and that’s exciting.”
The Oscar nominee joins three other cover stars featured in the annual issue, including Olympic athlete Jordan Chiles, gymnast Olivia Dunne, and Henning clothing founder, Lauren Chan.

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue is now available in news stands.
