Selena Gomez loves a good laugh – even if it’s at her own expense. The Only Murders in the Building star recently proved what a great sense of humor she has when she shared a joke about a photo of herself that recently went viral.

The photo, which ultimately became a meme, was one that Gomez shared on her Instagram stories during a vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. In the photo, Gomez is wrapped in a cobija (known by some as a Mexican blanket) while looking off into the distance as if in deep thought or looking forward to entering her señora stage.

While that might not sound like much to tease someone about, social media users were able to come up with tons of hilarious online content. One user compared Gomez to a mom on Christmas morning watching her kids open gifts that she told them they weren’t getting.

Another user said Gomez looked like a recently divorced woman at the movies who just threw her wedding ring in the ocean.

For horror movie aficionados, Gomez wrapped in a cobija might look familiar. It’s what every survivor of a slasher flick looks like before the credits roll.

Selena Gomez, too, wanted to get in on the meme action, so she reposted someone’s joke about her photo that she found funny: “My mom just sent me this old picture of my abuela from when she was still living in Mexico. This was taken during a year without rain.”
