Dedicated fans can finally give it a break on social media when it comes to the supposed bitter rivalry between Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber. Based on a photo they took together this past weekend, it looks like the women are living their lives on friendly terms.
At the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on Sunday (October 16), photographer Tyrell Hampton snapped a few photos of Hailey and Selena looking like BFFs. “Plot twist,” he wrote as a caption on one of his photos of the duo.
Hailey, of course, is the wife of Justin Bieber, Selena’s ex-boyfriend. Many believe that Justin started a romance with Hailey while he was still in a relationship with Selena. Late last month, Hailey went on the Call Her Daddy podcast to try to set the record straight that she was not dating her now-husband at the same time Selena was.
“I can say, period, point blank, I was never with him when he was in a relationship with anybody – that’s the end of it,” Hailey said.
During the podcast, she also revealed that she and Selena had spoken since her wedding to Justin and that there is “no drama” between them.
“It’s all respect, it’s all love,” she said. “That’s also why I feel like, well, if everybody on our side knows what happened and we’re good and we could walk away from it with clarity and respect, then that’s fine.”
Now that there seems to be photo evidence that Selena and Hailey aren’t feuding, maybe it’s time Selenators and Beliebers call a truce.
