If it’s true that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then actress Sofia Vergara is laying the compliments on thick for singer and fellow Colombiana Karol G.
This past Friday (April 1), Vergara shared a photo of herself sporting blue hair just like her co-star on their upcoming Netflix series Griselda. “Inspired by Karol G,” Vergara wrote. The photo, which features Vergara in a pink bikini, was taken as a bathroom-mirror selfie.
Online fans seemed to like the new look. One said, “That blue is really pretty.” Another said, “Sofía Vergara and Karol G the true queens of Colombia.” The jury is still out on whether Vergara’s choice to color her hair has anything to do with Karol G’s ex-fiancé dropping Vergara’s name in his latest track.
Vergara’s blue hair was temporary, however. The actress was back to her light brown color when she posted a selfie from the judges’ lounge for Season 17 of the reality series America’s Got Talent where she is returning as a judge.
We’ll all get to see how different Sofia Vergara and Karol G look when they share the screen in Griselda. The series follows Griselda Blanco (Vergara), one of the most infamous drug lords in Colombia. Karol G will play Carla, a drug mule who works for Griselda.
Last month, Vergara posted a series of photos of her and the cast of Griselda out at dinner. Maybe that’s when Karol G gave her some tips about how to color her hair. Or maybe Vergara was just using a phone filter to capture some colorful highlights. Whatever the case, the blue hair was nice while it lasted.
