Gurl crush and Supreme Court justice Sonia Sotomayor is on a roll so far in 2013 – she’ll be swearing in Vice President Biden at inauguration this weekend, her recently published memoir My Beloved World is making headlines all over the place, and now she has achieved the perfect 60 Minutes interview. I defy you to watch this and not want to be BFF with her – especially the part where she shoots the breeze with people in Bronx projects where she grew up (Her: “Hola, como estan?” Them: “Welcome to ya old neighborhood!”) and talks about beating up her brother’s bullies.

Also, as someone who grew up obsessed with Nancy Drew books and senior citizen detective shows (Matlock, Murder She Wrote, Perry Mason, Diagnosis Murder…) hearing this exchange just made my life:

Interviewer: So we are sitting in the Supreme Court today because you read Nancy Drew and watched Perry Mason?
Sonia From the Bronx: That’s exactly right.

Check out the 60 Minutes interview below, and don’t miss her talk in NYC at El Museo del Barrio on Saturday!
