According to Spain’s Cervantes Institute, Spanish is now the second most popular language on Twitter, second only to English. Which is kind of crazy, considering that more than 60% of Latin Americans don’t even have access to the Web. I give it 5 years max till Español is in the top spot, and we’ve officially changed the name from “Twitter” to “Tuíter.” SORRY NOT SORRY.
Spanish is the third most-used language on the Internet and ranks second in the ‘offline’ world, with 500 million speakers, only behind Chinese.
