You would think they had done something wrong given the reaction of the white woman filming them. But they hadn’t. The two women were just trying to sell food and they had the proper permits, but the unnamed white woman was upset and she made sure they knew.
As the women behind the taco truck explain that they had permission to sell in Dallas, the white woman was condescending and dismissive, saying “OK, baby girl” and “vamonos.” She begins to walk toward what’s probably her house and then threatens to call Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on them. “I’ll call ICE,” she said.
One of the Latinas invited her to call ICE (because being Latinx doesn’t mean you are undocumented) and the other calls her una “estupida bicha.” The short clip demonstrates some of the harassment that Latinx and other people of color face when they’re just trying to live their lives.
