Court is back in session! Manuel García-Rulfo’s The Lincoln Lawyer is coming back to Netflix this summer, and in a surprising turn of events, it’s getting a two-part release. That’s right, the show’s Part 1 will premiere on July 6th, with Part 2 then premiering a little under a month later, on August 3rd.

The show’s first season focused on García-Rulfo’s Mickey Haller, a lawyer who runs his practice out of the back set of his Lincoln, as he tries to restart his career by taking on a big-time murder case. The show is based on the series of bestselling novels by Michael Connelly, with the first season specifically adapting the fourth book in the Lincoln Lawyer series, The Fifth Witness. There are a total of seven books in the series.

For the second season of the show, The Lincoln Lawyer is bringing even more talent from our communities, like Mexican legend Angélica María, who is set to play Mickey’s mom Elena, Lana Parrilla, better known for playing the Evil Queen in Once Upon A Time, and Yaya DaCosta, who only recently wrapped up her stint as April Sexton on NBC’s long-running procedural Chicago Med. It also looks to continue Mickey’s relationships with his very peculiar found family, which includes both his ex-wives Maggie and Lorna, his daughter Hayley, his investigator Cisco (who is also about to marry Lorna), and his driver Izzy.

Netflix also released official key art and first-look photos from the second season alongside the premiere date. These images included our first look at Parrilla, who is definitely giving Mickey a killer smile that definitely speaks of a connection brewing between them.

And of course, there are plenty of images of the iconic car and one with Maggie, played by the talented Neve Campbell.

No trailer has yet been released, though, with a month to go, that is likely to be coming in the next few weeks.

The Lincoln Lawyer also stars Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson. Dailyn Rodriguez and Ted Humphrey serve as showrunners.
