A few months ago, Tony Peralta debuted his Frida con Rolo tee for his first women’s summer collection, and we knew that just as with the Frida Con Rolo print, it would be a hit. Now, the uptown artist has extended his rolo collection by adding in other Latina heroines – Celia, Wonder Woman, and Selena – in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month for his eponymous The Peralta Project line.
That may seem like an unexpected mix, but for Tony, who typically blends inside references and things even your abuela would understand in his work, this is just another reflection of his vision as an artist.
The rolo fun doesn’t just stop at his new T-shirts. Later this month, Tony will present his Rolos & Icons exhibit, something he says he’s been working on for a year.
