While mainstream emojis have only given us a taco, burrito, and a handful of Latin American flags to add color to our text messages, there’s one group that has gone above and beyond. The Latino Emoji app offers more than 250 emojis that Mexicans, Cubans, Venezuelan and others can relate to, made by native Latin American and US Latino designers. For example: vivaporú, all of Frida Kahlo’s emotions, and pan Cubano.
They aren’t as tiny as regular emojis, but they are pretty fucking cool and real. Download them here.
