Un Quickie del Armory Show

The annual art extravaganza known as the Armory Show (the largest and most important art fair in the US) is here. Beautify yourself y no seas aburrid@…  alzate las chi-chis, píntate el pico de rojo, saca los Sergio Rossis and Narcisos, pump it up with 4-inch heels, stuff your crotch and empty your pockets buying art from your favorite contemporary artist at The Armory Show at Pier 94 on the West Side, which ends on Sunday. Thanks for being a good prójimo for sharing your cashola.  Dios te colmará de bendiciones for being so stylish.

(FYI, did I mention that you might bump into the mother-of-your-children-future-husband/lover/individuos like Adrian Brody, Victor Alfaro, the Olsen sisters or Stefano Tonchi? I did, so be in your best outfits and behavior.)

Let me give you a quickie list of Mister Estiletto’s must-sees:

Enoc Perez @ the Mitchell-Innes & Nash gallery.

Leonard Freed & Susan Meiselas @ the Magnum Foundation.

The Project Gallery, ask about their future exhibitions of Coco Fusco (Cuban-American artist currently part of the Whitney Biennial).

Ruben Ochoa @ the Susanne Vielmetter Los Angeles Projects Gallery.

John Waters (yes, the film director) @ the Marianne Boesky gallery.

Nogueras Blanchard and Pilar Parra & Romero galleries – you might find some art from Spain you like.

Youssef Nabil (for some subtle homoerotic pristine photography) @ Michael Stevenson Gallery.

And if you find a bunch of power art collector$ from Puerto Rico brawling and fighting over paintings of Jonathan Meese, then you are at the Contemporary Fine Arts gallery from Berlin.

Fashion and style-wise nobody really struck me.  El único was Raul De Nieves, a young Mexican-American artist who wearing a vintage 20’s turban (by Modest by Jones) and some intrinsic Indian jewelry.  His only piece at the Show  was not even on  display, but  he was…at the Giti Nourbakhsch gallery from Berlin.

Also, here pictured: Haans Nicolas Mott, a furniture art dealer inquiring at The Project galley about Coco Fusco.
Painting: ’Salina/Star’ by Barkley L. Hendricks.

Boots: Guidi
Jeans: Vintage Helmut Lang
Hoodie: Ann Demeulemeester
Tie: Kenzo
