Los Amigos Invisibles are, obviously, not strangers to retro fashion trends. We’ve seen them many a time tapping on the ’70s disco glamour. This time around, however, they went more Mad Men than Travolta and dialed it back one more decade to the black-and-white ’60s.
Riding over a distinct Motown groove (think Diana Ross & The Supremes) with preppy clothes and hilarious hairdos to match, the funky Venezuelan party band recreates a Hollywood movie high-school prom with all its clichés, plus some bloody unexpected incidents.
Produced by Argentina’s premier pop architect Cachorro López, “La Que Me Gusta” is the first single off Amigos’ latest album, Repeat After Me (out now on Nacional Records).
