Erick Adame made headlines last year when explicit photos and videos of him were leaked to his employer, NY1, and the employer responded by firing the long-running weatherman. Months later, Adame is back on social media and he has a message to the “sexual predators” who leaked his images and those looking to see them.

“That news also gave, what I can only call sexual predators, the idea that I wanted to be exploited and humiliated. As if it were something I enjoyed,” Adame says in an Instagram video addressing the controversy. He continues: “But I want to be absolutely clear about something tonight. I never wanted any of those images or videos to be recorded, kept, saved, or shared in anyway.”

Adame then went on to warn anyone who will listen about the dangers of engaging in producing sexual content, especially on webcam sites. In the video, Adame further explains how his images got leaked and how it can happen to anyone else without their permission.

“I assumed that once I closed my laptop that anything that happened on camera would only exist in memory. But instead, those video sessions were recorded by people and sometimes by these bots,” Adame explains. “These bots are scripts that automatically run on the computer website that record those webcam sessions and then post them on a website.”

Adame’s video was filled with comments of support, love, and horror that something like this could happen.

Erick Adame ends the video on a positive note letting all of his followers know that while the ordeal has been traumatizing, he is hopeful that he will be back in front of the camera at a news station in 2023.
