Rescue dogs are so adorable and getting them adopted is so important. Stephen Colbert is doing his part in a recurring segment he calls Rescue Dog Rescue. The segment is so successful that he has adopted every dog that has been featured. On the latest iteration, Colbert mused that he needed a celebrity to help. Enter the magnificent Oscar Isaac.
As soon as Colbert says he needs a celebrity guest to help the dogs, Isaac walks in through a door and is ready to make it happen. “Well, I’m doing research for a movie where I play an adorable rescue dog,” Isaac told Colbert. He added: “Well, it’s about a group of puppies that form an NHL team. It’s called Stanley Pup.”
He then admitted that it was a lie to show that he was ready to get these dogs a home.
The Moon Knight star then joins Colbert in holding up the different dogs and letting the audience know all of the flattering lies that people want to know. One dog unsubscribes you from annoying email lists. One played Timothée Chalamet’s hair in Dune. And for some of us, we couldn’t stop staring at Isaac petting adorable dogs while being adorable himself.
All of the dogs featured are part of the North Shore Animal League, the largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization in the world. According to its website, North Shore Animal League has found homes for 60,000 animals and rescued more than 1.1 million in its years of operation.
When Oscar Isaac isn’t cuddling up with puppies, he’s currently starring in Moon Knight streaming on Disney+.
