It can be used as a garage, but most people use it to lounge or hang out. The dogs hang there, there are seats etc. The term came because initially next to homes they would put tents to hang out outside next to the house. but in time they began to construct this space so that it was actually part of the construction of the house. it’s open space, like being outdoors, but with a ceiling and surrounded by fence…tiled like a living room. Some people use outdoor tiles. Party de marquesina is a party held there.
