Fallout Season 2 has a lot to live up to. The first season of the show was a breakout hit, to the point that the second season is being released weekly.

The show’s cast took the stage this month at CCXP to share some of the excitement of the upcoming season with fans, and while in Brazil, spoke to Remezcla about the second season, the passion of the Brazilian fandom, and the fact that this is Walton Goggins and Justin Theroux’s first chance to work together after being friends for so many years.

“Overwhelming, humbling,” was how Aaron Moten, who plays Maximus, described the reception in Brazil in the video posted below on Remezcla’s IG. And we were present in the Thunder Stage at CCXP for the Fallout panel, so we’ll have to agree. The noise in that place was deafening.

“We love it, though. We work so hard on this show, you know? And at the same time, a lot of it…a lot of the things we do are virtual, you know? Even our set feels somewhat virtual and closed off from the whole world. So, to be finally at the point where we’re sharing the show with the people, again, it means a lot to us.”

He went on to add: “But that reception here in Brazil, it’s so special. There’s nothing like it.”

“Yeah, it’s really wonderful,” Ella Purnell agreed during the interview. And during the panel, she seemed equally as emotionally when she had to try multiple times to get a word in edgewise and kept getting interrupted by cheers from the crowd. That, in fact, happened to every one of the actors.

Justin Theroux, who plays iconic villain Mr. House in Season 2, was on the same page. “It’s such passion,” he told us. “I’ve had the privilege of seeing it, you know, San Diego Comic-Con or New York Comic-Con, but Brazil Comic-Con is something entirely different.”

Brazil really does everything bigger and better. If you’ve never been to CCXP, we’re just saying, it’s a bucket list item.

Walton Goggins even took it back to the beginning. “CCXP is where this journey began two years ago, and to be back here in that same room with this community, with this story, it was just overwhelming,” he told us. “I’m just so grateful.”

Goggins and Theroux are friends in real life, and have been friends for a long time—something that informs the dynamic The Ghoul and Mr. House have on screen, but also the opportunity for the two to work together for the first time. It’s a highlight of Season 2, and something they’re both really looking forward to people seeing, and that made the show one of the best experiences of their career.

“That is honestly, forget the reception, what I’ll walk away from this whole experience was, was just the days that we had on set, chopping it up and having so much fun,” Theroux told us. “He called and offered me this part, and I don’t know… It’s not nepotism, it’s like friend-potism or something, but it’s such a, it’s so fun.”

“No one can do it better than him. That’s the truth,” Googins said, teasing at the power of Theroux’s performance as he takes on the role of the technocrat leader who plays a major role in what’s uncovered in Las Vegas. Or New Vegas, if we’re getting technical.
