In a post-internet music industry, there is no set formula for success. In 2017, we began to see the impact of a new DIY generation of artists, who have been busy rewriting all the rules on how to make and release music, and build an audience for it. (Case in point: we saw Chance the Rapper take home multiple Grammys as a streaming only, independent artist – something that would have been unthinkable a couple of years ago.)
