Quite a few things have happened in the universe of Mexico City-based self-described M-pop band AQUIHAYAQUIHAY recently. Namely, they have signed to EDM superstar Steve Aoki’s Latinx-leaning label Dim Mak En Fuego and have released two EPs, 🙂 and :(—also known as Feliz and Triste, respectively—their first worldwide releases. Big things are ahead for the anti-boy band band for sure but today, they would probably take a break to smoke and listen to their favorite music to get high to on the week of 420 and beyond..

Unsurprisingly, their playlist leans heavily towards urbano, represented by all its flavors: hip-hop, drill en español, R&B, hip-hop, and corridos. There’s plenty of bangers for all those who love this kind of music, from Eladio Carrión’s “Ele Uve” remix to Herencia de Patrones “Pa Que Sepan” to Alemán and Yung Sarria’s “Waves” to Pxxr Gvng’s “Como El Agua” to Yoshi and Jessie Baez’s “Se Me Olvida.” They have also made sure to include patron saints of the weed holiday Snoop Dogg and Damian “Jr Gong” Marley.

The playlist also includes a healthy dose of AQUIHAYAQUIHAY’s music both from their main discography as well as collaborations from individual members with other artists. It makes for a fun and blissed-out selection as well as a great mixtape of young urbano music which happens to be some of their favorite music; making them great tastemakers as well as musicians.
