22 Songs to Prep You for Fascinoma, Mexico’s Newest Avant-Garde Electronic Festival

Siete Catorce

This weekend, a brand new boundary-pushing festival is debuting in Mexico. Fascinoma is taking over Metepec-Atlixco, a town in Puebla two hours outside of Mexico City. The fest is a gathering of 50 (!) DJs, producers, and musicians from all over the globe, spread across three stages with back-to-back sets and nonstop music from deep house pioneers like Larry Heard to local artists like Puma. The fest aims to enrich the electronic scene by opening a dialogue between local and international performers and audiences. Besides the shows and DJ sets, there will also be screenings, workshops, interactive art, local gastronomy, and more, all of it happening in an old textile factory-turned-hotel where you can rent a room or, if you’re brave, pitch camp.

We took on the herculean task of creating an Apple Music Before You Go playlist to get you hype. Check out our favorite releases from a handful of the local acts, like Siete Catorce, White Visitation, and Líneas de Nazca, plus hits from headliners Kode9, Mala, Machinedrum, The Gaslamp Killer, and many more. Brace yourself for the marathon – ahem, sorry, festival.

Fascinoma hits Metepec-Atlixco on November 11 and 12. For more info, click here.
