When the Latin GRAMMY Awards return to Las Vegas on Thursday, Nov. 12, music’s biggest night of the year will feature no shortage of firsts. Alongside heavyweight veterans like Edgar Barrera, Karol G, and Rosalía, the 27th annual ceremony is set to showcase new faces breaking through on Latin music’s grandest stage.
Among them is Colombian singer Kapo, who heads to Nevada celebrating his first-ever nomination: Best Urban Performance for “LA VILLA.” For the rising artist, the honor represents both personal growth and a broader community effort.
“This journey to the Latin GRAMMY Awards has been a dream for me, but I know I didn’t get here by myself,” Kapo shared ahead of the ceremony. “My family, friends, team, and the fans who have connected with my music and believed in me from the beginning are all part of this moment.”
Kapo isn’t the only one marking a milestone in Las Vegas this year. The ceremony also marks the debut for the House of Rémy as the Latin Grammy’s Official Cognac, kicking off awards-week content and activations with Kapo under its My Celebración banner.
While this marks Rémy Martin’s first formal title sponsorship with the Latin Recording Academy, the spirits house is no stranger to awards-week culture in Las Vegas. Longtime Remezcla readers will remember the 23rd Latin Grammys in 2022, when Rémy Martin teamed up with Remezcla Studios for a two-day pop-up creative residency. That activation brought together veteran producers like Eduardo Cabra, Rafa Pabón, and Raúl Sotomayor for spontaneous recording sessions, while giving artists like PaoPao, Ambar Lucid, and Totoy El Frio an intimate stage to showcase new sounds.

Four years later, that ongoing focus on creative craft and artist milestones comes full circle— setting the stage for newcomers like Kapo to take their first victory lap under the Las Vegas lights.
The 27th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will take place on Thursday, Nov. 12. The ceremony will air live from Las Vegas, NV, on Univision, UNIMÁS, Galavisión, and stream on ViX.
