Say Goodbye to Summer With Boiler Room’s NRMAL Baja Stream Feat. Cuco, Mint Field, and More

Art by Alan Lopez for Remezcla

After another successful edition this past March, Festival NRMAL is coming back for an encore this fall, shifting its backdrop from busy Mexico City to the beautiful beaches of Rosarito, Baja California. The one-day all-ages event NRMAL Baja, which is giving us flashbacks to the now-defunct All My Friends Festival, is taking over Castillos del Mar on Saturday, September 9, with program offerings that include a stacked lineup, succulent menu from Cocina Central, plus relaxation sessions, screenings, and multimedia exhibits, making this a feast for all the senses.

We know you’re packing your bathing suit, sunscreen, and sunglasses, so make sure you don’t forget to throw in our trusty Apple Music Before You Go playlist, which serves as a guide to the eclectic NRMAL Baja lineup. From Holy Waves’ psyched-out jams to Jessy Lanza’s elegant pop gems, or Preoccupation’s delicate coldwave (you know, the band that went by that name) to Mitú’s afro-futurist beats, there surely is something here for everyone. Pay special attention to local acts, because you may find your next musical obsession here. Chicano singer Cuco is all about nostalgia and romance, while Ethics walks the R&B path. Silent’s take on metal is filled with drama, and Yelram Selectah – who is teaming up with Tayhana to make sure the music never – is all about updating regional sounds for the dance floor. Rosarito is about to turn up.

Even if you’re staying home, you can feel the Baja California heat radiating from your computer screen from dusk till dawn, thanks to a special Boiler Room transmission of NRMAL Baja, where you’ll be able to catch each and every act performing this Saturday. Just follow this link and succumb to the beach vibes right before the summer ends.
