Following the release of his recent hit “Holanda,” Jhayco is back with another banger. This time, the Puerto Rican artist teamed up with Peso Pluma for the electronic-infused reggaeton track “Ex-Special,” out today (Aug. 31).

The new track starts off with rasgeado guitar strums and a strong bass that echoes Peso Pluma’s música mexicana signature sound elements. The melody then transforms to an upbeat sound, infusing electronic and reggaeton pop sounds–completely changing the vibe altogether. Lyrically, the track talks about enticing a favorite ex-lover without strings attached. Though Peso Pluma’s feature is only brief throughout the track, both vocalists leave their mark in the upbeat end-of-summer anthem that will have you thinking of hitting up a former partner.

Fans are digging the new joint track. A social media user wrote: “Madre mia jhayco never fails, what a great track he delivered with peso pluma.” Another social media user echoed the same sentiment: “JHAYCO DID NOT FAIL WITH PESOPLUMA I’M DYING.”

The surprise drop has been buzzed about since last Tuesday (Aug. 22), when eagle-eyed fans spotted evidence of the two artists recording a music video together in New York. Towards the end of last week (Aug. 25), Jhayco posted a carousel featuring a slide of him listening to the then-unreleased track. That same day, during a concert in Mexico City, he teased the same tune. Before previewing it to his live audience, he revealed that he was in the land that inspired the new joint track.

Our final clue leading up to the highly-anticipated release was on Tuesday (Aug. 29), when the “DÁKITI” singer posted a carousel featuring a blurry photo of the two artists and wrote: “I left you a little picture of what’s next on the carousel, I love you Rockstarz!!”

Last night, Jhayco gave fans in Miami the first listen to the song at an event with CÎROC Vodka Spritz. Up next, he will embark on his Vida Rockstar Tour in Boston, MA, on Sep. 28. He will tour cities like Chicago, San Antonio, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Miami. On the other hand, Peso Pluma is also on his Doble P Tour. His next tour dates include performances in Greensboro, NC (Sep. 1); Rogers, AR (Sep. 3); and Laredo, TX (Sep. 7).
