Copa America 2024 trophy
The Copa America 2024 trophy carries with it more than a century of history and prestige. The original trophy, a stunning piece of 950 silver jewellery, was crafted by Casa Escasany in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and first awarded in 1917.
This trophy, initially valued at 3000 Swiss francs, was imported from France and uniquely designed by the jewellery store to mark the champion of what was then the South American Championship, later evolving into the present form.
Over the years, the trophy underwent modifications to honour the growing list of champions, with a wooden base added in 1979 for additional champion plaques and another expansion in 1995.
The original trophy remained in circulation until 2001, after which replicas were used until 2021. Now, fully restored, the historic cup is set to make a grand return at the 48th edition of the tournament.
