A new bilingual comedy series is coming our way, and it’s loaded with Latine talent. Eugenio Derbez (Coda) will star in Acapulco, a coming-of-age story told in both Spanish and English for Apple TV+.

The new show will focus around a twenty-something Máximo Gallardo (Enrique Arrizon), who gets the job of a lifetime as a cabana boy at the hottest resort at a Mexican beach. But, as is the way of most television shows, he soon realizes his dream job isn’t what he thought it would be. Adding a comedic element to the show is his complex home life, guests that are more demanding than most bridezillas, and a mentor that is unpredictable at best.

Acapulco is told in both English and Spanish over 10-episodes. The show is set in 1984, with Arrizon as young Maximo and Derbez as the present-day version of the lead character. Also appearing in the new show is newcomer Fernando Carsa, Damián Alcázar (Narcos), Camila Perez (A Teacher), Vanessa Bauche (Luis Miguel: The Series), Rafael Cebrián (Narcos), and more. Derbez will also serve as an Executive Producer for the show.

Acapulco will join an expanding lineup of Apple Originals from the world’s greatest storytellers. That includes the upcoming series “Echo 3,” a new action-thriller set entirely in South America.

Acapulco is set to debut on October 8 on Apple TV+.
