After a two-year hiatus triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, E! News is returning to the small screen, and Adrienne Bailon-Houghton has been tapped to co-host a new, nightly show.

E! News debuted in September 1991 and covered everything from celebrity news and gossip to previews of films and TV series. Over the last 30 years, the show has gone through several format changes and has seen its share of hosts, including Ryan Seacrest, Giuliana Rancic, Catt Sadler, Scott Tweedie, and Lilliana Vazquez. Joining Bailon-Houghton for E! News’ new iteration is Justin Sylvester.

“E! News has a long history of entertainment news excellence, and we are excited to bring the show back and continue its legacy,” said Tracie Wilson, EVP of NBCUniversal Syndication Studios and E! News. “Justin and Adrienne are charismatic, seasoned hosts with a genuine interest in pop culture. This is the perfect team to bring a fresh take to this franchise.”

Last week, Bailon-Houghton signed a new talent and development deal with NBCUniversal, which owns E! Entertainment Television. Tomii Crump, NBCU Television, and Streaming’s head of unscripted casting and talent said the network had “long admired Adrienne’s talents” and looked forward to her connecting with a new audience.

“I’ve had some incredible opportunities throughout my career, and many of my favorite moments have come from stepping into a hosting role,” Bailon-Houghton said. “From co-hosting The Real to whatever the future holds, these are the opportunities that I thrive for. I’m thrilled to have the support of the incredible team at NBCU as I continue to grow in my career and couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come.”

This past summer, Bailon-Houghton and her husband Israel Houghton welcomed their first child, Ever James, via surrogate.
