Well before Lin-Manuel Miranda turned his attention to Alexander Hamilton and his humble beginnings in the Carribean, he was fixated on a neighborhood in New York known as Washington Heights. In The Heights was a broadway play centered around the Latino neighborhood. It would go on to win four Tonys, including Best Musical, in 2008 and become an instant hit. Fast forward 13 years and Hollywood is eagerly awaiting the film version of the musical. In fact, it’s one of the most anticipated movies of 2021 and for good reason-the movie is spectacular.

To add to the frenzy is a new book titled In The Heights: Finding Home. It is set to release on June 22, just days after the movie hits theaters. The audio version of the book is drawing some major talent too. Actress, producer, and director America Ferrera has added her voice to the audio version of the book.

Ferrera told fans, “I have so much respect for all the creative forces that have banded together over the years to bring this gorgeous musical to the world! So excited for you all to see the movie on June 11th, and then you can hear me dish all the behind the scenes secrets.”

And you will get the dish as the book will give readers a look inside In The Heights. The book was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda along with Quiara Alegria Hudes and Jeremy McCarter (all three also lend their voices to the audiobook). In the meantime, the In The Heights film is out on June 11 in theaters and HBO Max.
