In the last few years, Bad Bunny has undoubtedly reached superstardom. With that comes a lot of criticism – on everything from his aesthetic to his lyrics – but also a lot of tributes. Cuban-American Arian Cartaya – who went by Arian Good Bunny as well as El Conejito Bueno – was a bona fide Bad Bunny impersonator in 2019 at just 6 years old. And he’s had everything from El Conejo Malo’s mannerisms to his attire down.
Arian started imitating Bad Bunny in 2018, and his videos and photos have earned him lots of fans – he had 12,000 followers on Instagram at that time – and brought him face to face with several celebrities, including Bad Bunny, Amara la Negra, and Becky G.
It also landed him on ¡Despierta América!, where he was initially feeling a little shy. But as soon as Arcangel and Bad Bunny’s “Original” starts playing, Arian starts shimmying his shoulders, much like his idol.
Before his appearance on ¡Despierta América!, he even created a music video for “Original.” And now he’s on HBO Max’s It: Welcome to Derry.
Cartaya plays Rich Santo, one of the main characters taking on the iconic Pennywise. He’s joined by Lilly, Ronnie, and Will. And the show doesn’t just have him playing a small town Cuban boy. His heritage is prevalent, with the character talking about his tio and the gang even doing a ritual based on Rich’s direction.
