Someone get Bad Bunny some melatonin drops or pass him some lullaby tunes. The reggaeton singer is having trouble sleeping. The reason? He says he feels a bit stressed now that he’s been cast as El Muerto, one of the next Sony-Marvel superheroes to hit the big screen.

“Maybe, for some people, it’s different in the sense that the higher they are, the less pressure they feel, because maybe they trust that everything they do will be a success,” Bad Bunny told GQ for the latest cover story. “But I’m the opposite: the more I get an audience, the more I go up, the more pressure I feel to keep going. Sometimes I can’t sleep thinking about it. I go days without sleep.”

The film, a standalone project for Sony, isn’t scheduled for release until early 2024, so Bad Bunny has some time before production gets underway. Still, he should probably remedy his situation sooner than later — as we all know, sleep is key… especially when you’re on a schedule like his.

Bad Bunny broke the internet late last month when it was announced he would be playing the super-powered luchador whose real name is Juan-Carlos Sanchez. The news came during a Sony panel at Cinemacon in Las Vegas, where Bad Bunny made a surprise appearance. The casting did receive mixed reactions from those who felt the role should’ve been given to a Mexican actor to the fans who are excited to see him dive deeper into acting.

El Muerto debuted in comic books in 2006 and is best known for fighting Spider-Man at a charity event where he nearly unmasks the Avenger. Bad Bunny made his first public statement about the role earlier this month on The View when he told the co-hosts that he couldn’t believe he was cast for the gig.

“It’s huge,” he said. “It’s amazing. I’m very confused. Like, really? I’m going to be part of the Marvel Universe.”
