During a visit with host Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show Wednesday evening (November 3), reggaeton superstar Bad Bunny talked about making his acting debut on Netflix’s third and final season of Narcos: Mexico, which premieres Friday (November 5).

First, El Conejo Malo explained to Fallon what the similarities are between acting and making music. “You have to work hard, be responsible [and] respect [your] colleagues,” he said. “I enjoyed it. It’s something new for me, but I like it. I’m learning, and I’m practicing.”

In Narcos: Mexico, Bad Bunny plays Arturo “Kitty” Paez, a member of Ramón Arellano Félix’s gang. Fallon asked Bunny if it was a challenge to play a villain in a TV series because he’s such a “nice, positive guy” in real life. “You’re Bad Bunny, but you’re a good man,” Fallon said.

“The character is a cool guy,” Bunny said. “I’m a cool guy, I think so. I don’t know.”

Fallon then shared a clip from Narcos: Mexico with the audience featuring Bunny playing Kitty. In the clip, Kitty is swimming in an indoor pool and watching a young narco (who we assume is Alfredo) filling a bag with bricks of cocaine. Soon after, his brother Alex (Lorenzo Ferro) quietly walks into the room. “What, your bro doesn’t talk?” Bunny asks. Alfredo responds: “Silent, but deadly.” Later, Bunny tells Alex that he could make some “serious cash” with his “baby face” and then pinches his cheek.

Although Bunny’s role in Narcos: Mexico is being considered his acting debut, the rapper did make a seconds-long cameo earlier this year in F9: The Fast Saga. His next on-screen presence will be in the 2022 action-thriller Bullet Train starring Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock.
