Becky G released her cover of “Bella Ciao” along with a music video Wednesday (December 1) in honor of La Casa de Papel‘s final episodes.

“Bella Ciao” was written in the late 19th century as an Italian protest folk song but reentered the public consciousness when it was used in the hit Netflix series La Casa De Papel (Money Heist). The 24-year-old Mexican American singer is a fan of the show.

“I have always loved La Casa de Papel and the way this show connected with millions of people across the world,” Becky G said in a statement. “‘Bella Ciao’ is an iconic song and marks an important moment in the series, so being asked to reimagine it and be a part of the Casa de Papel world is truly an honor. From recording the song to shooting the video, I hope everyone enjoys this cover as much as I do!”

The music video, which is directed by Megan Gamez, pays tribute to the series by featuring its iconic red jumpsuit, Salvador Dali mask and bars of gold from the Bank of Spain. The video begins with Becky G sitting on the steps of a building talking about the show with some friends.

When she tries to make a video of her friends dancing, her phone gets hacked and then a Dali mask falls from the sky and hits the street. Becky G picks up the mask and puts it on and is immediately transported to the darkened city streets where she dons a red jumpsuit and is accompanied by a group of masked dancers. Later, she climbs a small pyramid of gold bars before being bumped back into the present day.

Last month, Spotify launched a refreshed content destination for the series. The last five episodes of La Casa De Papel stream on Netflix on December 3.
