Update (November 10, 2023) — Blue Beetle will be available for streaming on Max on November 17.

Update (September 21, 2023)Blue Beetle will be available for purchase on digital platforms on September 26 and on Blu-ray and DVD on October 31.

The 4K UHD and Blu-ray releases include bonus features like a 4-part documentary on the making of the superhero movie, a featurette on “Nana’s transformation from an adorable abuelita into a machine gun-wielding revolutionary” and another featurette on the scarab’s powers, which is hosted by lead actor Xolo Maridueña.

While it’s still vastly important that you get out to the movie theater to support Blue Beetle, the first major, live-action film to feature a Latine superhero in its own storyline, we understand that not everyone can make a trip to the cinema.

Fear not, homebody DC Comics fans. Blue Beetle will be available to watch in the comfort of your own home quicker than you think. At least, that’s the rumor on the street right now.

According to MaxblizzBlue Beetle will be released on digital HD platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Vudu, and Google Play, on September 19, 2023. While the date is not listed on the Amazon website or others yet, it does give you the option to pre-order the movie for $24.99.

The source also reports that the DVD, Blu-Ray, and 4K UHD versions of Blue Beetle will be released in October 2023. The same goes for websites selling physical media. There are no specific dates listed – for example, at Amazon – but customers can pre-order the movie in 4K Ultra HD + Digital for $39.98 or on DVD for $24.98.

There will also be a Steelbook version of the movie that you can pre-order for $29.96.

It is also being reported that Blue Beetle will start streaming on Max on October 24, 2023.

We’ll keep you posted as soon as official word comes from Warner Bros. Discovery, but at least this gives us something to talk about until then. We’re sure everyone’s noticed over the last few years how much shorter the time has become between a movie’s theatrical release and its release as physical media or on streaming platforms. We wouldn’t be surprised if Blue Beetle ended up in your home movie collection sooner than later.
