If you’re still mourning the loss of one Netflix staple (RIP Sense8, we’ll miss you!), know that the streaming service is still committed to the kind of international fare that’s made it a global phenomenon. After announcing they’ve picked up Chicas del cable for a second season, they’ve now confirmed the release date for their OG Spanish-language hit Club de Cuervos. The Gaz Alazraki-created soccer comedy will be coming back September 29 for its third season.
The announcement was made, in true Cuervo fashion, via a trio of webisodes following Chava Iglesias Jr. (the always funny Luis Gerardo Méndez) as he decides to head to Russia to catch a soccer game in the land of Putin. After visits to Saint Basil’s Cathedral and failed attempts at nabbing a good seat at the Russia-Mexico game (he ends up being surrounded by Russian fans who aren’t too keen on his livestreaming the proceedings), Chava’s adventure ends with a title card that reveals when we’ll next see what he and the rest of the Cuervos crew are up to.
If you’ve already binge-watched both seasons of Club de Cuervos, be sure to check out the full #ChavaEnLaCopa saga before you start counting down to season 3.
