Cristela Alonzo is coming back to Netflix with another comedy special! This will be Alonzo’s third Netflix comedy special, after the success of her other two, titled Cristela Alonzo: Lower Classy (2016) and Cristela Alonzo: Middle Classy (2022). Now Cristela Alonzo: Upper Classy is coming to Netflix on September 23.
The special was filmed at The Majestic theater in Dallas, Texas. And Alonzo serves as Executive Producer alongside Page Hurwitz and Wanda Sykes for Push It Productions, with Page Hurwitz directing.
The logline for the special reads: “In this newest special, Cristela is in the pursuit of happiness. Whether finding out she’s doing better than her high school bully, visiting a spa and getting too much self-care, or taking her family on their first vacation ever, Cristela teaches her family (and herself) how to enjoy life, whether they like it or not.”
On Instagram, Alonzo also addressed the impetus behind the special, saying “I also talk about the state of where we are in time. I had to use the privilege I have of having airtime to speak about my community. If I didn’t, then what am I doing all of this for? Hope you check it out. I’m really proud of this one. 🇲🇽❤️🇺🇸”

Among other things, Cristela Alonzo is famous for creating and starring in the ABC sitcom Cristela, becoming the first Mexican American woman to create, produce, write, and star in her own American primetime comedy. This latest stand-up comedy special completes a trilogy for Netflix, making Alonzo one of the most recognizable voices in comedy for our communities.
