It’s been a long, winding road for the CW’s reboot of Charmed, but it now looks to be coming to an end. Nuyorican actress Melonie Diaz is set to lead the new incarnation of sisters who possess magical powers and use them to battle evil, and the series’ first trailer looked to have an intriguing story involving the sisters learning about their powers while banding together to solve their mother’s murder. Now, the network has announced a premiere date for the new series and it should coincide well with the spooky subject matter.

The CW will debut Charmed on Sunday, October 14 at 9pm. The series will be the perfect follow-up to the network’s popular superhero series, Supergirl, turning the Sunday night into an evening dominated by tough women.

This new diverse take on Charmed is being produced by Jane the Virgin showrunner Jennie Snyder-Urman and it’s fantastic that this will be paired up alongside another female-centric series. (Though it’s surprising it’s not being paired up with Jane, especially considering the series is set to enter its final season.) Regardless, Diaz, along with co-stars Madeline Mantock and Sarah Jeffrey sold the first trailer well and this should be a fun new take on a beloved series.

Charmed debuts October 14, 2018 on the CW.
