Actor Danny Ramirez (TV’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) plays a character who may be behind a sinister act in the upcoming film No Exit, which just dropped its first trailer.

Adapted from the 2017 novel of the same name, the modern-day whodunnit stars Havana Rose Liu (TV’s The Chair) as Darby Thorne, a young woman who gets stranded at a highway rest area in the mountains during a blizzard and discovers a kidnapped child bound inside the back of a snow-covered van.

Inside the rest stop are four strangers, any of whom could be the person involved in the kidnapping, including Ramirez who plays a character named Ash. The other potential criminals are played by Dale Dickey, Dennis Haysbert, David Rysdahl. In the trailer, Darby asks Ash if the building they’re in has WiFi, but he just laughs as they all settle in for the night.

With no way of knowing who the kidnapper is, Darby decides she is going to try to save the child herself. But with the roads closed, she has no choice but to spend time indoors with the strangers, although it’s obvious in the trailer she doesn’t want anyone to know what she has uncovered. “Make yourself comfortable,” Sandi, played by Dale Dickey, says. “We are here ‘til the storm clears.”

Although Ramirez doesn’t get much screen time in the trailer, the fact that the cast is small and the film seems to be shot mostly in one location, it’s probably a safe bet that the 29-year-old actor will have an integral part in the thriller.

Along with No Exit, Ramirez will be seen this year in the sequel Top Gun: Maverick alongside Tom Cruise.

No Exit debuts on Hulu on February 25.
