The number of prominent men in Hollywood accused of sexual misconduct post-Harvey Weinstein keeps rising. And after accusations started swirling around actor Kevin Spacey, an article published on Wednesday via the Los Angeles Times discloses a history of abuse against women from Rush Hour director Brett Ratner.
Ratner, whose mother is Cuban-born, is accused of various levels of harassment and assault by at least six women, including prominent actresses Natasha Henstridge and Olivia Munn. In the last 24 hours, the director has severed ties with Warner Bros., whom he had a lucrative production deal with, and saw production suspended on his upcoming Hugh Hefner biopic.
The same day the LA Times story ran, Ratner filed a defamation lawsuit against Melanie Kohler who claimed on Facebook she was raped by the director back in the mid-2000s. Her allegations, posted to the social media platform a week ago, were not part of the Times article.
