Noir writer Elmore Leonard’s hard-boiled fiction has already gotten the TV treatment once in the form of FX’s Justified. (They’ve gotten the film treatment in the form of Get Shorty, Out of Sight, and 3:10 to Yuma.) The success of that show – and the resultant upswing of sales of his anthology When the Women Come Out to Dance – has inspired NBC to adapt the story that anthology’s named after for TV. When the Women Come out to Dance is the story of a Colombian mail-order bride who, oh yeah, kills people for money. Could be good.
We’d like to see Angie Cepeda or Flora Martinez in the role. We’re putting money on it not even going to a Colombian actress. Who do you think it should go to?
