But one Uruguayan director has apparently found the silver lining to all this madness by throwing a big fat copyright icon next to one of Donny’s most memorable flurries of mouth garbage.
Fede Álvarez’s Bad Hombre is being billed as a content company that will support “fresh and exciting voices in genre filmmaking.” It’s exactly what we would expect from the young Montevideo-born director, who has made a name for himself with high-grossing milestones of modern horror like Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe, though the venture will extend beyond horror to the realms of sci-fi and thriller.
Powerhouse indie production company Good Universe has also thrown their weight behind the venture, guaranteeing a solid foundation for Álvarez’s vision. With perennial collaborator and fellow Uruguayan Rodo Sayagues signed on as an exec, the successful Latin American immigrants have clearly intended the “Bad Hombre” moniker as a big ole middle finger to Old Man Don and his irrational, xenophobic blather.
