Love is in the air for the second half of Season 2 of the sitcom Mr. Iglesias, which picks up right where the first half left off. In the final episode of the first half, history teacher Gabriel (Gabriel Iglesias) finds out that Jackie Ontiveros (Elora Casados), a woman he flirts with at a karaoke bar, is his high school’s new guidance counselor. Casados worked as the sitcom’s set costumer before being cast in the main role.

SPOILER ALERT: The final five episodes of Season 2, which debuted on Netflix today (Dec. 8), expand on Gabriel and Jackie’s newfound romance. In the first episode, Jackie joins her new coworkers in the teacher’s lounge where she refers to Gabriel as “Señor Dimples.” The two have kept in touch via text over the summer while Jackie was visiting her mom in Reno.

“You know Gabe, I gotta say, you have a lot to live up to,” she says. “Text Gabe was very funny.”

Jackie ends up making the first move by telling Gabriel that they’re going on a date—no questions asked. Now, who doesn’t like a woman who knows what she wants and takes initiative?

We won’t give too much more away about the show, but in the next few episodes, audiences will see plenty of flirting, witty banter, adorable chemistry and lots of besitos. There are also a few scenes where their nosey coworkers hover around them in the faculty lounge to witness Latinx hearts fluttering. It all leads to the final episode at the school’s holiday dance before winter break where Gabriel must face his fears about slow dancing. But with a little K-Ci & JoJo on his side, he might end up getting exactly what he wants for Christmas.

The second half of Mr. Iglesias Season 2 is available to stream on Netflix Dec. 8.
