Lopez Vs. Lopez, the upcoming comedy TV series starring George Lopez and his daughter Mayan Lopez, has a premiere date.
According to Deadline, the show, which is described as “a working-class family comedy about dysfunction, reconnection and all the pain and joy in between,” will debut on NBC on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 8 p.m. Lopez Vs. Lopez will be a lead-in for the third season of Young Rock.
Mayan Lopez went online Wednesday (June 29) to tell all her followers the news and asked them to mark their calendars. “I cannot wait for you all to see this incredible and hilarious show with the most amazing cast and crew I could ask for!” she wrote. “VAMOS!”
A few weeks ago, actress Selenis Leyva (Orange Is the New Black), who also stars in the sitcom, posted about how excited she was to star as a series regular on a network show for the first time in her 23-year career.
“No words can describe what I feel at this moment,” she wrote. “The tears that I shed today fall short. I think I’m literally all cried out!! It’s been YEARS!!! I’m excited for this ride. I’m ready. I’ve been waiting, preparing, praying and well…Let’s go.”
Lopez Vs. Lopez comes from Bruce Helford and Debby Wolfe – the same team that gave audiences The Conners. Helford was also the co-creator of George Lopez, Lopez’s sitcom that ran from 2002 to 2007 on ABC. Earlier this year, it was announced that Lopez was cast in the upcoming DC superhero movie Blue Beetle.
