Gina Rodriguez is having the best day ever. A few hours ago, it was announced that her TV show Jane the Virgin was renewed for a second season. Then, just a few minutes ago, she won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV Comedy. It is her first time in a leading role in a TV show and her first nomination. The always gracious Chi-town Boricua had us bawling during her acceptance speech. In between tears, gasps for air, half-sobs, and thank yous she declared, “This award is so much more than myself. It represents a culture that wants to see themselves as heroes.”
Thank you St. Gina. We couldn’t agree more.
