UPDATE (3/29/24): Co-showrunner and EP of Gordita Chronicles Brigitte Muñoz-Liebowitz also confirmed season one is available on Hulu and Disney+ as well!

Gordita Chronicles is getting a second chance at life. The Max original show, which was canceled by the streamer last summer and taken off the service when Max decided to pull back on live-action kids and family programming, will now be available on Tubi. All 10 episodes can be streamed starting March 29th at 7:30 AM PT.

“Thanks to the tireless folks at Sony and my favorite new streamer Tubi, Gordita lives! Beyond happy to give the shows’ fans another chance to view our episodes and looking forward to sharing them with a new audience, too,” creator, EP, and co-showrunner Claudia Forestieri told Deadline.

Meanwhile, co-showrunner and EP Brigitte Muñoz-Liebowitz added, “We’re so thrilled that Gordita Chronicles now has a home at Tubi. This is a huge win for comedy, for underrepresented audiences, and for fans who have been relentless in their support of the show. It gives me hope that all the stories and incredible creative work we lost in the streaming purge can continue to live on.”

Gordita Chronicles was created by Forestieri based on her real-life childhood. It tells the story of Cucu Castelli, who narrates her youth as she emigrates from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to Miami with her family. The 1980s are complicated, especially if you’re a “gordita” who has to somehow fit in as your family boldly pursues the “American Dream.”

The series starred Olivia Goncalves, Juan Javier Cardenas, Diana Maria Riva, Savannah Nicole Ruiz, and Dascha Polanco.
