Wonder Woman 1984 hit theaters and streaming platforms on Christmas Day. Since it’s debut, the internet has been flurried with audiences’ responses to the long-awaited sequel to the 2017 hit. The film itself has been a momentary monetary boom to the film industry, during a year where the pandemic has questioned movie theaters sustainability, Wonder Woman 1984 brought in over $30 million worldwide, a box office high since the coronavirus took over the globe. However, despite the lack of blockbuster content this year, audiences have been voicing their disappointment (and confusion) over the film.
Wonder Woman 1984 finds our heroine, Diana Prince, living in 1984 Washington, DC. She works at the Smithsonian Institute as a curator, and despite having about seventy years pass, she is still lonely and pining away for her lost love, Steve Trevor. Some people wondered how this could even be possible.

But she meets a friend, another intelligent woman named Barbara Minerva and guess what? She turns into a cheetah. Well, the CGI wants you to believe that anyway.
But as Minerva loses herself to Cheetah, another villain is born, Maxwell Lord. Portrayed by Pedro Pascal, it is the only character of color in the film. Oh, and he’s a stereotype.
There’s 151 minutes of story but…what is it?
