Luis Miguel: The Series season 2 is much closer than you think!

The Netflix show based on the life of El Sol de Mexico has finally given the upcoming second season a premiere date. You’ll be able to stream each episode, starting April 18th, and similar to how season one debuted weekly episodics, Netflix is releasing one episode every Sunday.

According to GQ Mexico, the second season will follow a theme of “the brighter the sun, the darker the shadows” and cover Miguel’s most contentious stage with the public where he had to learn to balance his professional career and his personal struggles amid the filming of the second season of La Vida de Luis Miguel.

The actors confirmed to be returning to the series include series star Diego Boneta, Camila Sodi, Juanpa Zurita, Pilar Santacruz, César Bordón and Martín Bello were already confirmed. In addition, the new season will be joined by: Macarena Achaga as Michelle, the singer’s daughter; Fernando Guallar as Mauricio Ambrosi; Pablo Cruz Guerrero as Patricio Robles; Juan Ignacio Cane as José Pérez; Teresa Ruiz as Azucena; Valery Sais, who will play Michelle as a young man and Axel Llunas, who will play Sergio Basteri as a young man.

Fans of the show are hoping the second season delves into what may have happened to Miguel’s mother, Marcela Basteri. As of today, Basteri has been missing for twenty four years, and though some scattered reports have surfaced saying that Basteri is still alive, no one can officially confirm it’s true. But fans have been formulating theories based on all the controversies Miguel’s father, Luisito Rey, was involved with at the time of her disappearance.
