ICYMI: Twitter Went Nuts Over the Full-Frontal Nudity in Netflix’s ‘Club de Cuervos’

If you’ve been working your way through season one of Netflix’s breakout Spanish-language series Club de Cuervos, you’ve probably noticed there have been some – ahem – big developments. Or, to quote the term preferred by the Spanish-language press, “descomunal.” Of course, a lot of things can be descomunal: a giant house, for example, or a massive car, or José Arcadio Buendía’s colossal penis in One Hundred Years of Solitude. In this case, it seems journalists have turned to the words of Latin America’s literary giant Gabriel García Márquez for an adequate description of Argentine actor Joaquín Ferreira’s own monumental member.

In his role as Argentine soccer star El Potro on Club de Cuervos fictional soccer team, Ferreira may not be part of the show’s principal cast, but he’s certainly won over the hearts and minds of many a female fan with one small (or rather, large) gesture.

That’s right, the real life ex-soccer star turned actor and visual artist stripped down and showed his stuff for the series’ fourth episode, “Bofetada” (“Slap”), and unsurprisingly, Twitter’s gotten all hot and bothered by his daunting dimensions. One particularly successful meme unfavorably compared the recent revelation of Lenny Kravitz’s free-ballin’ dongle to Ferreira’s tripod in the form of a soccer scoreboard.

But in the face of public uproar, Ferreira quickly took to his own account to affect a false but much-appreciated modesty.

So is this an empowering gesture of male frontal nudity in an industry that has consistently preferred to sexualize women’s bodies, or just an easy marketing gimmick? Maybe a little of both? Either way, we’ll bet it has caught your attention.

And no, you’re not going to see it here. Sorry folks.
