Steven Universe – the animated series following half-human, half magical Steven Universe – is known for its intriguing and well-rounded characters. Pose’s Indya Moore is one of the latest introduced on Sunday night’s episode of Steven Universe: Future, the limited-series follow-up to Steven Universe.

Moore plays Shep, a nonbinary character who’s dating Sadie. The two have been dating for two months and the other characters use “they” and “them” pronouns when referencing Shep, according to Out.

As of now, it’s not clear if Shep will come back, but Moore is sure hoping for that. “Omg I was so nervous about this read lol im so happy people enjoyed it,” they wrote. “sounds like we need to bring shep back as a regular?!?”

Check out a cut of Shep’s scenes below (if you don’t mind spoilers, that is).
