The aged albeit elite mercenaries known as The Expendables are back for another round of madness and mayhem and this time, they’re bringing Andy Garcia (Father of the Bride) along for the ride in The Expendables 4.

Garcia will make an appearance in the fourth installment of the action movie franchise, as Marsh, a CIA agent working with the team led by Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham. Garcia’s participation in the film was announced in 2021.

The first trailer for The Expendables, which is oddly enough officially titled Expend4bles, debuted online on Wednesday (June 7). And it features The Expendables on a mission to stop a nuclear war between the U.S. and Russia. Garcia pops up in the trailer to tell the team what dangers lie ahead for them.

“Terrorists have taken possession of nuclear missiles on a cargo ship off the coast,” Garcia’s Marsh says. “If these babies go off, it’ll be World War III.”

He then shows up on the mission with the team wearing a black beret. Marsh quiets down the team as they infiltrate the control room of a ship. We’ll see how much action he sees fighting alongside Stallone and Statham, but we’re hoping Garcia gets to take out a few bad guys along the way.

Andy Garcia was most recently seen in the romantic comedy Book Club: The Next Chapter last month opposite Diane Keaton. Later this year, he will star alongside Emily Blunt and Chris Evans in Pain Hustlers, a drama about the pharmaceutical industry. And we can’t forget his role in the 2022 remake of Father of the Bride.

The Expendables 4 aka Expend4bles premieres at theaters nationwide on September 22, 2023.
