Jenna Ortega and her star has sky-rocketed in recent years thanks to roles in shows like Wednesday and movies like Scream and the upcoming Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. As such, she’s become someone that fans want to see in many major franchises, such as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, many may not know that she’s already had a role.

Similar to how massive stars like Pedro Pascal, who got his start in like Buffy the Vampire Slayer,  Ortega was lucky enough to get a small but crucial role as the Vice President’s daughter in Iron Man 3.

Iron Man 3 explored Tony Stark’s world being destroyed by The Mandarin, later revealed to be the villain, Aldrich Killian. This villain was powered by a virus known as Extremis, which could also heal the injured and allow them to regrow limbs.

The vice president, played by the late Miguel Ferrer, works with Killian in a plan to kill the President in hopes that he could use Extremis to heal his daughter, played by Ortega, who was missing her leg.

Due to it being such a small role, it makes sense that many wouldn’t know of this role, especially with Ortega starring in other roles in between, from Scream (2022) to Miller’s Girl. But what’s hilarious is that even her co-stars on Scream VI, as explained in a Vanity Fair Q&A, had no idea. Surprisingly, only Mason Gooding guessed Iron Man 3, while Melissa Berrera and Jasmin Savoy Brown guessed Captain America: Civil War.

Years later, Ortega grew into a highly skilled and accomplished actress with an impressive filmography. While it’s unclear if she will return to the MCU any time soon, she’s got quite a busy schedule on her hands with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Wednesday Season 2 coming later this year and next year, respectively, as well as the upcoming movie Death of a Unicorn.
